Through the ages we have battled them in different ways.
During World War 2, the U.S. army killed bed bugs using hydrogen cyanide.
Which was probably just as dangerous to the soldiers as it was to the bed bugs.
In modern times we have been winning the war until very recently.
Thanks mainly to international travel and a ban on many pesticides, bed bugs have made a resurgence in North America.
Please meet our next speaker Karn who has created a process of protecting you against bugs naturally.
No more cyanide, thankfully.
Karn is the founder of Terramera, a global leader in developing high-performance bio-organic replacements for chemical pesticides in agriculture and in public health.
Karn studied biology and biotechnology at McGill University before obtaining a degree in Law from UBC.
Karn was also the youngest MLA to be ever elected in B.C. at 24, serving the BC Liberals. In 2014, he was named one of Business in Vancouver’s top 40 under 40.
