In 1990, the first annual TED conference was launched in Monterey, California. Fast forward 24 years later, TED has become a familiar name today with the help of the internet, allowing ideas worth spreading to reach people and impact lives around the world.
At TEDxStanleyPark, we continue to strive to introduce innovative and positive ideas addressing significant issues to our community with the goal of stimulating, energizing and inspiring actions that could change attitudes, lives, and ultimately, push humanity forward. Our team uncovers hidden champions in our community and invite them to share with the world inspiring stories and powerful calls-to-action, so that we may all contribute towards realizing a better society and a better life.
Upholding our values, we go above and beyond to positively impact our local community – from being mindful about sustainability in transportation of guests, to supporting local businesses via collaboration with Granville Island restaurants. However, we did not accomplish this all on our own. As a non-for-profit event, our supporters are crucial to our success as resources are limited. Support given to projects such as TEDxStanleyPark plays a critical role in improving our community by making it possible for us to create the best experience for guests and touch the lives of many within their network, and perhaps even inspire millions via the internet for years to come. Dr. Brené Brown’s talk at TEDxHouston – The Power Of Vulnerability – changed my view on vulnerability and the way I perceive worthiness and imperfections. It has made me a more authentic and courageous person. Do you remember the last time you saw a impactful talk from TEDx? How different would your life be right now if you have never had the opportunity to see it?
That is why supporting such community initiatives is of great significance towards creating a better community. We are both proud and grateful to G&F Financial Group for being the Title Sponsor of TEDxStanleyPark! We share common values of empowering and educating others to enrich their lives, and we look forward to spreading the “Ideas To Action” movement and positively change lives together.
