Terms and Conditions

By purchasing tickets you agree, on your own behalf and as an agent on behalf of all persons for whom you are purchasing tickets or who will be holding tickets purchased by you (you and each such person being a Ticket Holder), to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

 

1. Ticket Sales 
TEDxStanleyPark tickets will not be sold to bots (automated software) or brokers.

 

2. Ticket price inclusions 
Ticket Holder’s ticket price includes all transaction and supplementary fees (except GST) that apply to the TEDxStanleyPark conference to be held in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on March 4, 2017.

 

3. Refund and exchange policy
All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

4. Ticket form
A TEDxStanleyPark ticket takes the physical form of a conference bracelet. Any person entering the Queen Elizabeth Theatre auditorium on March 4, 2017 must have a valid bracelet. Lost, stolen or destroyed bracelets will not be honoured nor will bracelets obtained from any source other than TEDxStanleyPark or its agents.

 

5. Ticket pickup
Ticket Holders picking up conference bracelets must pick them up at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre box office at 650 Hamilton Street between 10:00am and 8:00pm on Friday, March 3, 2017 or between 8:30am and 3:00pm on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

 

6. Reserved sections
Each bracelet colour directs Ticket Holder to a reserved section where Ticket Holder can claim any unoccupied seat. Once a seat has been claimed, Ticket Holder must not move to another seat.

 

7. Names of all Ticket Holders
The Queen Elizabeth Theatre requires to know the identity of each Ticket Holder. Ticket Holders holding tickets for others must provide TEDxStanleyPark with their first and last names by February 25, 2017.

 

8. Not permitted activities
No flash photography, audio or video recording is allowed inside the auditorium but is permitted elsewhere in the theatre.

 

9. Age restriction
Children under the age of thirteen will not be admitted.

 

10. Late seating policy
Ticket Holders who arrive after 10:00am will be admitted and are asked to minimize their disturbance of other audience members.

 

11. Right to refuse admission and evict
TEDxStanleyPark reserves the right without refund or compensation to refuse admission/evict any person(s) whose conduct is disorderly or inappropriate or who poses a threat to security, or to the enjoyment of the conference by others.

 

12. Permissions
Ticket Holder grants to TEDxStanleyPark a fully-paid, perpetual right to all photographs, video and audio recordings of the Ticket Holder taken or made at the conference and the right to record, use, reproduce, broadcast and distribute any photographs, video or audio recordings for any purpose.

 

13. Live performance
Due to the nature of a live performance, all speakers, performers and program portions are subject to change.

 

14. No warranty
TEDxStanleyPark does not warrant that Ticket Holder will be satisfied with the conference or that it will be free of technical difficulties.

 

15. Waiver of liability
Ticket Holder voluntarily assumes all risk and danger of personal injury and hazards arising from, or related in any way to TEDxStanleyPark (including loss, damage or theft of any personal property) whether occurring prior to, during or after the conference or the after party and releases TEDxStanleyPark and its staff, agents and volunteers from all liability.

 

16. Right to alter
TEDxStanleyPark may postpone, cancel, interrupt or stop the conference due to adverse weather, dangerous situations, or any other causes beyond its reasonable control.

 

17. Authorization
By providing any personal data to TEDxStanleyPark, Ticket Holder agrees to join a list that is emailed information pertaining to the March 4, 2017 conference and subsequent TEDxStanleyPark conferences. Ticket Holder may unsubscribe from this list easily, at no cost and at any time.

 

18. Bonus and door prizes
The donors of bonus and door prizes have undertaken to fulfill the entitlement of Ticket Holder when Ticket Holder buys a ticket or wins a door prize. In good faith TEDxStanleyPark communicates these undertakings to Ticket Holder. TEDxStanleyPark will apply its best efforts to ensure that bonus and door prize donors honour their undertakings but does not assume any liability in the event that they fail to do so.

 

19. Jurisdiction
British Columbia law shall govern the sale of all tickets and Ticket Holder agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the British Columbia courts.
